Yikes: does anyone have anything _good_ to say about this bike? :-)
My boss used to own one and tells me he thought it was a great bike. I also posted a note in rec.motorcycles asking about it and had three people write me to say they thought it was a good bike for a good price.
I'm not sure what to make of this. Before I bought my Savage three years ago I asked around. People who had never owned one told me bad things about it (too small, too slow, top end problems, cam chain tensioner was weak) and folks who actually had owned one praised it as a very reliable bike. I guess "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" might be a good saying to remember here.
I've decided I'm going to buy the KZ. I'm not sure what I'll do with the Savage: I expect to hang onto it for a month or two to see how the KZ works out. If I like the KZ I have a couple of friends who are talking about getting a small learner bike and have said they'd be willing to buy my Savage for a reasonable (read cheap) price. If I end up not liking the KZ, I'll hang onto the Savage and sell the KZ in the coming spring.
